Chris Brogan #1 on Forbes Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers

January 27, 2012 by Raul Colon

Guy Kawasaki, Raúl Colón (Fundador de CIMA) y Chris Brogan

It isn’t everyday you get Happy Birthday sung to you by one of the Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers but in December, during his show with Joe Sorge called Kitchen Table Companies  #KTCO , Chris Brogan sang Happy Birthday to me in Spanish. I really appreciated the gesture as it was something unexpected and with Raul sending him a message, he gave a great performance.

Top 10 of Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers on Forbes

Since CIMA is a Strategic Partner with Chris Brogan’s company called Human Business Works, we were elated to read that author Haydn Shaughnessy , Forbes contributor, compiled  a list of Social Media users  because he wanted to analyze what these people write about  and the following they have when it comes to Social Media. Feel free to read the article in the link above.

Congratulations to Chris for being named number one on the list. If you have ever heard Chris on KTCO, gone to a conference to hear him speak, or read his blog posts, then you know that he genuinely connects with people.

Thanks to Hadyn Shaughnessy for writing the article.

Should I use Google + for my business?

July 5, 2011 by Raul Colon

Every time that a new Platform emerges, many of us are thinking about the benefits our businesses can get from them. Google + is currently available for some users. At the moment Google has temporarily stopped new from joining.

This is a good testing ground when trying to figuring out what Google + can leverage over other platforms like Facebook or Twitter when you are one of the first to use it.

I guess no matter what platform you decide to use you have to look at it from the perspective of being able to enhance the process of meeting your business goals and always keep that in mind.

So many people jump into every platform with only one thing in their mind and that is selling and marketing.

Thankfully the early implementers have created a good ambience in the Google + eco system that  leaves a lot of opportunity for exploration with very few people pushing their products on to you for the moment. It is time for every business owner to strengthen relationships and get to know other people on this platform.

So my business advice for Google + : Get to know the people with access and see how you can help your customers with this new tool.

If you are new to Google + this video created by our friend @chrisbrogan can give you a quick idea on how to start using it.

@chrisbrogan also wrote this awesome list on 50 ideas and opportunities where he thinks Google+ can benefit all of us. I would recommend you to take a look at his unique ideas.

Spreading a Message Without Writing or Talking

January 20, 2011 by Raul Colon

For those of you who thought that @chrisbrogan needed to talk, write, or blog to get a message across this video is proof of the opposite:

I am always looking at ways for people to understand that businesses have to have that human touch. A few days ago I was talking to someone who decided not to get more information because once the requested more detail of a product the person on the other side decided to send them to the website for more information.

Once you have someone engaged in your product please take the time to assist them in learning more. I think this subject is great for another post.

I also really wanted to show a video that is very effective in getting a message across without any dialogue.

Watch the great video and let me know if you really get the message @chrisbrogan is trying to convey.

How do you send your message out without writing or speaking?

Do you have a clear enough message that speech or writing is not needed to be understood?

What's On Your Menu? #KTT

January 12, 2011 by Raul Colon

this is what was on the menu for the last episode.... it isn't legible on camera, so a lot of it is inside jokes of the crews

I had the opportunity yesterday to participate along @chrisbrogan and @joesorge on their weekly show Kitchen Table talks on thepulsenetwork.com. If you run a small business it might not be a bad idea to tune in at 2pm Est. every tuesday.

The menu referring to the list of services or products you provide your clients. With my business I have been tailoring and tweaking my services to what my customer’s needs are. A few days ago I went ahead and launched my website with a New Logo try to give it a fresh look. I am currently working on what I need to offer my clients and migrating my website I did bring some service descriptions I want to edit others that I deleted.

Overall I have to admit I created services and then went after the clients I guess I had to look for the clients and find what pain or burden I could take off their hands before I structured my products.

I think @webby2001 really nailed it in the head when he clarified the question @chrisbrogan had asked me with the following tweet.

[blackbirdpie url=”http://twitter.com/#!/webby2001/status/24909853902249985″]

This really helped me understand how I need to tweak my menu.

Do you think of your clients problems and pain points when creating a menu?

I really want to thank @chrisbrogan and @joesorge for giving me the opportunity to interact with them.
